When you buy something with a debit card from a checking account, is the purchase recorded?

If I was to buy something online with a debit card that is attached to my checking account, would the purchase be recorded, and be able to be reviewed? Or does the bank not aknowledge what exactly I'm buying.|||They acknowledge who the vendor is. So it will show a purchase from amazon.com and the price debited from your account but not necessarily what you bought.
