Why cant you create a paypal account with a debit card instead of a credit card?

I only have a debit card do you really just need a credit card for a pay pal account?|||A debit card can only be used at a bank to withdraw money. A check card is a card from the bank that you can use to make purchases online and at stores. What you really need is a check card.
