What's the difference between a debit card account and checking account?

Amazon gives the payment option of both: "Debit Card" and "Checking Account." Wouldn't the money be coming from the same place...I'm confused.|||Jane





You got it! The money comes out of the same account. You can use the ATM, the checks, or the debit card to get your money. The problem is that Amazon is not convenient to do your banking. Your local bank is much more accessible.





Your local bank has online banking, bill pay, lots of atms, easy to deposit into, and easy to get to.





Soccerref|||Your debit card is linked to your checking or (at some institutions) savings account. Some people use their debit card to pay. Some go directly against the checking account. Recently many people use prepaid Debit cards that are have a set limit. That's why you see the option.|||There are some debit cards you can buy at the store.


They are pre-paid debit cards -for those that do not use checking accounts.
