Can I use my debit card as a credit card for online purchases?

I want to get some stuff online for this moment. I'm just wondering if it affects my credit score or not? I would also like to know if it's reliable? I mean the website is legit, but would I get protection even though my debit card bears the visa logo on it?|||yea you can use a debit.|||No it will nto affect your c redit scores and used as credit or debit it comes right out of yor checking account within 2-3 days.|||You can use your debit card online for shopping if it is a Visa or Mastercard. Although there is a problem with using your debit card online. There are many phishing sites out there that can steal your debit card number and empty out your bank account. Most banks offer protection to some extent but it is a hassle to try to get your money back and write claims if your account gets ripped off.

Personally I don't like credit cards for their interest rate and the way they try to rip you off. I've been ripped of using my debit card online so I switched to using prepaid debit cards. Then if your account get stolen (god forbid) then they can only take what you have on the card and not your entire bank account. Plus the place that I found for my prepaid card offers special security for their cards when you shop online. Best place I've ever worked with. The site I got mine at is listed below if that is a better alternative for you. I hope my post helped, good luck shopping!|||Debit cards do not report to the credit bureaus

(even if it is one attached to your checking account)

Therefore - it does not affect your score
