What can I do with this prepaid debit card before it gets here in the mail?

My friend was suppose to by a GreenDot MoneyPak refill card. But instead, he bought the actual pack to get the debit card. He is mailing it to me and I will activate it and have them send me an actual card. In the mean time, I can supposedly use the card for online purchases. So does anyone know how I can get the cash out and in my card asap? That was the original purpose of him buying it to begin with and, as usual in my life, something went wrong.|||you can use the account number to buy stuff on line but you can not get cash out without the actual card in hand!!!
