I was mailed letters from charity organizations asking to make donations. They ask to either make a check payable to them, or pay by credit card. Does it make a difference if I pay by debit card? They wouldn't know my pin, so would they be able to take out that sum of money?|||It's ridiculous to claim that less than 50% of donations will go for its intended use. There are SOME organizations which do not use donations wisely; but those are generally ones nobody ever heard of. As long as people do a little homework, they can give wisely to organizations which are smart about how they use funds.
Brother's Brother - 99.9% of donations go to programs
Leukemia %26amp; Lymphoma Society - 75% go to programs
St. Jude Childrens Hospital - 75% go to programs
There are thousands of others which use donations wisely.
Personally, I have found that the more generous I am in giving, the more I am blessed. Giving only the "leftovers" only means you won't have anything to give, as very few people have "leftover" money.|||First rule of finances:
Take care of yourself first.
Get together that emergency fund of 6 to 8 months worth of living expenses put away in a cd or a savings account.
Put the max contribution to your 401K.
And pay down your loans if you have any.
Then... you give to charity.
Less than 50% of that money will actually go for what it's needed.
And some are even 100% fake.
Take care of yourself first.
Give any organization that is not 100% legit, they will sell your info to thousand of other companies. You could get mail like this for years, if not decades to come.|||you cant pay by debit card like this and dont send your credit card number either ,
