I have a debit card with Lloyds tsb bank
and they are charging 拢20 fine and 拢2 interest on the fine,
How is this possible when I hve not got the ability to be overdrawn.
Is Lloyds bank stealing my money and what can I do about it|||Yes, it can happen. What you have is an unauthorised overdraft so LTSB can charge you an exorbitant fee. You just don't have authorised overdraft arrangement which is payable on interest and not fined. But LTSB will stop your debit card from continuing to withdraw money.
All you can do about it is manage your funds more accurately.
I for myself do not use direct debits but pay electronically direct to company accounts such as domestic utilities from Lloyds internet banking. So I pay only when I have the funds rather than getting direct debits trying to take money out when I am short of money.
Saves me a lot of direct debit return fines I used to get.
Badabang is right Lloyds is pretty fair compared to the rip offs like Santander which I am also a customer of.|||Sometimes the computer link does not connect, it only tries for a second or so. Most outlets will have a floor limit, and if the transaction is below the floor limit it will go through even if it is not authorised.
As a result you end up with an unauthorised overdraft, and will be charged through the nose for it.
Think yourself lucky. If you were with Santander, it would have cost you 拢30, with Barclays 拢55.|||because this way they get to make money off of you
