How do I prevent the magnetic strip from being damaged on my debit card?

I just recently got a new debit card after the magnetic strip on my old one became worn out and would no longer read when swiped. Does anyone know of any ways or techniques I can use to prevent my new debit card from being damaged like the previous one?

Instead purchase 20 times/month. Using it like 5 times/month. Your chance will reduce 75% of being damage.|||put a nice 3M clear tape on it. not the thick one use a thin one.|||just dont get it scratched and your good too go!
